94.9 KCMO Morning Show Host, Kelly Urich To Ride His Bicycle 100 Miles To Benefit Harvesters
Kansas City, MO – 94.9 KCMO’s Morning Show Host, Kelly Urich will ride his bicycle 100 miles starting at April 10th to help feed the hungry in Kansas City. Tuesday, Kelly challenged his listeners to pledge 50 cents for every mile he rides. Kansas Citians quickly responded, raising over $6,000 in just a few hours.
“Anyone who listens to our show knows I’m lucky to have a
job, so this is the least I can do. And Harvesters! How can you say no? Cycling
is one of the few social distancing activities you can do, so I’m thrilled to
combine my passion for Harvesters and my favorite sport.
I’ll ride as hard as I can! Thank you to everyone who has given so much and to everyone who helps us promote this worthy cause,” Urich said. “Thank you Kelly Urich for helping fight hunger in our community,” said Valerie Nicholson-Watson, President and CEO of Harvesters–The Community Food Network. “It takes all of us working together to help our neighbors, especially during the ongoing pandemic.”
KCMO-FM Program Director, Joe Russo said “ Kelly is combining his passion for biking and Kansas City for a worthy cause that will put food on the table for many local families in their biggest time of need. It’s such a worthwhile cause and I hope anyone who is able will make a donation. ”
Tomorrow, Kelly will start his 100 mile ride at Union Station to Kansas Ave, K-32 to Lawrence, 10 Highway, Shawnee Mission Park to the Downtown Airport and he will end at Union Station in front of the fountain by 5pm.
