SPLAT!! Smiley Pumpkin Drop is BACK and the Pumpkins Are Bigger Than Ever!

WHO: Smiley Morning Show on Cumulus Indianapolis’ 99.5 WZPL-FM.

WHAT: Smiley Pumpkin Drop is back for its 19^th spectacular year as one of Indy’s most highly awaited Halloween traditions! Smiley Morning Show on Cumulus Indianapolis’ 99.5 WZPL-FM will hoist a 1,459-pound pumpkin hundreds of feet in the air and then watch as it comes crashing down on the concrete! In addition, the station will drop a 250-pound pumpkin and a 400-pound pumpkin from the same distance. Also, the smallest pumpkin will be painted with Smiley Morning Show Host Dave Smiley’s face on it. The largest pumpkin will be painted live onsite by artist Gavin Goode. 99.5 WZPL-AM listeners will determine what will be painted on the pumpkin. So far, listeners have been suggesting a COVID-19 molecule.

Smiley Pumpkin Drop is typically attended by thousands of people of all ages – just waiting to see the magnificent SPLAT of the giant pumpkins! The family event is FREE and open to the public. Bring kids dressed in costume for trick-or-treating, bounce houses, free small pumpkins from Hogan Farms while supplies last, balloon artist with free balloon animals, and MORE!

WHEN: Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Smiley Morning Show will broadcast live from the pumpkin drop from 6:00am-10:00am. The first drop will be a 250-pound pumpkin at 8:05am, followed by a second drop of a 500-pound pumpkin at 8:15am. The third drop will be a 1459-pound pumpkin at 8:35am.
