Indiana Sports Hero and Award-Winning Sportscaster Dan Dakich Brings Experience and Passion for Sports to Indy Sports Radio Fans

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – January 23, 2024 – Cumulus Media (NASDAQ: CMLS) announces that it will launch Indianapolis’ newest local Sports/Talk show on Indy’s Sports Ticket 1430 AM/WXNT-AM. Hosted by championship basketball player and coach, the award-winning sports radio and television personality Dan Dakich, “The Dan Dakich Show” airs Monday through Friday from Noon-3pm beginning Monday, January 29^th.

Dakich’s career combines experience as a championship basketball player and coach with that of an award-winning radio host and ESPN’S leading Big 10 college basketball analyst. As one of only two men to be a two-time captain under legendary Indiana University Men’s Basketball Coach, Bob Knight, Dan Dakich and the State of Indiana have had a lifetime love affair.

Dakich starred at Andrean High School in Merrillville, IN, and led the small Catholic school to its only trip to the Indiana High School state finals in the non-class state tournament. At Indiana University, he played on one Big 10 Championship team and captained and started on IU’s Elite 8 NCAA Tournament run in 1984. In addition to captaining the Hoosiers, Dakich won the prestigious Balfour Award for bringing “Honor and Distinguished Service” to Indiana University. He served the IU basketball staff for a total of 17 years, in literally every capacity, from Graduate Assistant to Head Coach.

After a 10-year run as Head Coach at Bowling Green State University that included a MAC Outright title and two NIT Berths, Dakich switched careers and launched “The Dan Dakich Show” on WFNI (“The Fan”), a local Indianapolis ESPN radio affiliate. After 14 years at the Fan, he took his show to “OutKick Network,” where his show “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich” airs Monday through Friday from 9:00am-11:00am.
